Windsor's 2011 Radical History Conference
------------------------------------------
Windsor's 2011 Radical History Conference (http://radicalhistoryconference.blogspot.com) is calling out to grassroots organizations, community activists and interested persons to submit materials to display at our conference on February 4th, 5th and 6th. Do you have an interest in the history of grassroots movements, in social change, or human liberation? We want to hear from you!

Popular education is an important tool for grassroots activists to reach the greater public and to empower the disempowered through the free sharing of knowledge. This conference will provide a space for us to examine a narrative of history that focuses on working peoples and their struggles toward a more equitable, sustainable, and beautiful world.

There are a lot of ways to contribute. Here are some formats for materials we are suggesting:

History display
--------------–
This would be a bristol board display including text and pictures, with a lot visual elements to view by conference attendees. What events from history do you feel should should be remembered?

Short write up
-------------
We are compiling a “Radical Timeline”, a large display of chronologically presented events in the history of social movements. You could submit a short write up to include in this timeline. Pick any event from history that you feel had important implications for social change, provide an interesting writeup of this event, and we will add it to the timeline.

Presentation
------------
Provide a synopsis of a topic you would like to present, and we will include it in the conference itinerary. Your presentation will be promoted as part of the conference.

Multimedia materials
------------------–
Provide or suggest an important film that you feel could contribute to the conference. The film can be viewed by conference attendees or shown as part of the itinerary.

Promotional Materials
--------------------–
Are you an artist? We need images for our promotional materials, postcards and flyers.

Please email a short description of how you want to contribute to roadwindsor@riseup.net. You will be added to the organizing mailing list and will be kept up to date leading up to the conference.

  1. Hi,
I'm wondering if it will be possible to access this radical time line somewhere? I have been trying to compile my own but would be happy to have access to this, probably more thorough version.

    Cheers,
    Wilson
